Help.. with Griffin

Hello,

I love the book that this pattern is in. I have gotten to the collar part of pattern. I need clarification on the instructions. Chain 12, turn, (turn what?), sl st, sc, hdc, dc, tr. that leaves 6 chains not worked in. The pattern reads to repeat 8 times. If I chain 12 more, I will 18 stitches now. Any help would be great!

Hi Anonymous!

I think you're referring to this part:

BIG COLLAR (in white yarn)
(ch 12, turn, start in second ch from hook, slst in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, tr in next 7 st) repeat 8 times.

You make 12 chains, then you work back on the chain (that's what we call "turn") and start in the second chain (so the first one after the one on your hook).
You then work 1 slst, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc and 7 tr. This makes a total of 11 stitches.

I hope this works for you! Enjoy crocheting!
