I'm having a tough time starting the wing branches! I can't manage building on a magic circle with only 4 foundation stitches in the first round! Such a tight ring with dark green yarn, the stitches aren't distinct and I can't increase! Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi Jbean1961,
I know, a magic ring of 4 stitches is very tight. If you feel uncomfortable working in such a small piece, you can instead:
Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2 - 8: sc in all 6 st [6]
This will make the branch less spiky, but will make crocheting more comfortable for you.
