Hi Greenlady,

I believe you're referring to this part:

Row 29: skip first ch on the hook, sc in next 2 st [2]
Now crochet around the edge of the outer head. Start in the same st as the last st of row 29, sc in next 10 row-ends up along edge 1 (created by rows 20 to 29).
Now work around the outer head in the unworked stitches of round 18: dec, (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 3 times, sc in next st, (hdc dec, hdc in next st) repeat 2 times, dc in next 5 st (mark the 3rd dc made in this stretch of 5 dc, this indicates the bottom center of the outer head), (hdc in next st, hdc dec) repeat 2 times, sc in next st, (dec, sc in next 2 st) repeat 3 times, dec [35]
Now crochet back down edge 2, sc in next 9 row-ends
(created by rows 20 to 28), slst in last row-end (created by row 29, yellow marker in ).
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

What you do in this part, is work a neat finishing round around the entire piece, so it's not ragged. You work around the sides in the row-ends. These are not stitches, but the outer sides of your crochetwork, so you basically work in the side of the outer stitches.

You start in the last stitch of row 29, then work up the edge to round 18, then work in the unworked stitches of round 18 and down the edge again.

Picture 2 in the book marks the two edges and shows the direction of your crochetwork.

I hope this helps.
